About this Act
An Act to provide for the formation within the State of Assam of an autonomous State to be known as Meghalaya and for matters connected therewith.
Where a Proclamation is issued under article 356 in respect of Meghalaya, the President
may, by the same Proclamation or a subsequent Proclamation varying it, suspend also, in whole or in part,
the operation of any of the provisions of this Act.
