About this Act
An Act to provide for the conservation of coal and development of coal mines and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
(1) This Act may be called the Coal Mines
(Conservation and Development) Act, 1974.
(2) It extends to the whole of India.
(3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification, appoint in this behalf.
