Cognizance of offences.
About this Act
An Act to amend and consolidate the laws relating to wages and bonus and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
(1) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under
this Code, save on a complaint made by or under the authority of the appropriate Government or an
officer authorised in this behalf, or by an employee or a registered Trade Union registered under the Trade
Unions Act, 1926 (16 of 1926) or an Inspector-cum-Facilitator.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), no court inferior to that of a Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the first class shall try the offences under this Code.
