The Oil Industry (Development) Act, 1974
About this Act
An Act to provide for the establishment of a Board for the development of oil industry and for that purpose to levy a duty of excise on crude oil and natural gas and for matters connected therewith.
Whoever contravenes or attempts to contravene or abets the contravention of
any of the provisions of this Act or of any rule made thereunder (other than the provisions for the
contravention of which section 23 applies), shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may
extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
