About this Act
An Act to provide for the social security and welfare of unorganised workers and for other matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
(1) This Act may be called the Unorganised Workers'
Social Security Act, 2008.
(2) It extends to the whole of India.
(3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
