About this Act

An Act to provide for the levy of a terminal tax on passengers carried by railway from or to certain places of pilgrimage or where fairs, melas or exhibitions are held.

All sections
(1) This Act may be called the Terminal Tax on Railway Passengers Act, 1956. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
