Section 14: Definitions
    1[14. Definitions.--In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires,--
     (a) "constituency" means an Assembly constituency 2*** ;
     (b) "qualifying date", in relation to the preparation or revision of every electoral roll under this Part, means 3[the 1st day of January, the 1st day of April, the 1st day of July and the 1st day of October] of the year in which it is so prepared or revised:]
     4[Provided that "qualifying date", in relation to the preparation or revision of every electoral roll under this Part in the year 1989, shall be the 1st day of April, 1989.]
