Long Title: An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies, with objects not confined to one State and serving the interests of members in more than one State, to facilitate the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of co-operative s as peoples institutions based on self-help and mutual aid and to enable them to promote their economic and social betterment and to provide functional autonomy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 32: Manner of exercising vote.
    Every member of a multi-State co-operative society shall exercise his vote in person and no member shall be permitted to vote by proxy:
     Provided that a multi-State co-operative society or a co-operative society or any other institution which is a member of any other multi-State co-operative society may, subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of section 38 and the rules, appoint its representative to vote on its behalf in the affairs of such multi-State co-operative society.
