Long Title: An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies, with objects not confined to one State and serving the interests of members in more than one State, to facilitate the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of co-operative s as peoples institutions based on self-help and mutual aid and to enable them to promote their economic and social betterment and to provide functional autonomy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 53: Committees of board.
    (1) The board may, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed, constitute an Executive Committee and other committees or subcommittees as may be considered necessary:
     Provided that other committees or sub-committees, other than the Executive Committee shall not exceed three.
     (2) The Executive Committee or other committee or sub-committee referred to in sub-section (1) shall perform such functions as are assigned to it in accordance with the bye-laws of the multi-State cooperative society.
