About this Act
An Act to provide for the reconstitution of the Medical Council of India, and the maintenance of a Medical Register for India and for matters connected therewith.
(1) This Act may be called the Indian Medical Council
Act, 1956.
(2)It extends to the whole of India.
(3)It shall come into force on such date 1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
