Long Title: An Act to establish in the economic interest of India greater public control over the coal mining industry and its development by providing for the acquisition by the State of unworked land containing or likely to contain coal deposits or of rights in or over such land, for the extinguishment or modification of such rights accruing by virtue of any agreement, lease, licence or otherwise, and for matters connected therewith.

Section 25: Protection of action taken in good faith.
    (1) No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against the Central Government or any person for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or any rule or order made thereunder.
     (2) No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the Central Government or the competent authority or any other person for any damage caused or likely to be caused by anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or any rule or order made thereunder.
