Long Title: An Act to establish and incorporate a teaching and residential University in the State of Assam at Tezpur and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 11: The Chancellor.
    (1) The Governor of the State of Assam shall be the Chancellor of the University.
     (2) The Chancellor shall, by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University.
     (3) The Chancellor shall, if present, preside at the convocation of the University held for conferring degrees.
