Section 1:
Short title, extent, application and commencement.
(1) This Act may be called the
Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
(2) It extends to the whole of India 1*** and it applies also it citizens of India outside India.
(3) It shall come into force in a State on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the
Official Gazette, appoint.
