Long Title: An Act to provide for the establishment, in the interest of the general public, of a fund to ensure that the price of levy sugar may be uniform throughout India and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement.

    (1) This Act may be called the Levy Sugar Price Equalisation Fund Act, 1976.
     (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir*.
     (3) It shall come into force on such date ¹ as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
