Long Title: An Act to provide for the reorganisation of the States of India and for matters connected therewith.

Section 9: Formation of a new Madhya Pradesh State.
    (1) As from the appointed day, there shall be formed a new 1*** State to be known as the State of Madhya Pradesh comprising the following territories, namely:―
         (a) the territories of the existing State of Madhya Pradesh, except the districts mentioned in clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 8;
         (b) the territories of the existing State of Madhya Bharat, except Sunel tappa of Bhanpura tahsil of Mandsaur district;
         (c) Sironj sub-division of Kotah district in the existing State of Rajasthan;
         (d) the territories of the existing State of Bhopal; and
         (e) the territories of the existing State of Vindhya Pradesh; and thereupon the said territories shall cease to form part of the existing States of Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Bharat, Rajasthan, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh, respectively.
     (2) The said Sironj sub-division shall be included in, and become part of, Bhilsa district in the new State of Madhya Pradesh.
