Long Title: An Act to provide for the levy and collection of a cess on iron ore, manganese ore and chrome ore for the financing of activities to promote the welfare of persons employed in the iron ore mines, manganese ore mines and chrome ore mines and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 2: Definitions.
    (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,--
         (a) "export" means taking out of India to a place outside India;
         (b) "Fund" means the Iron Ore Mines 1, Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare] Fund formed under section 3 of the Iron Ore Mines 1[, Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare] Fund Act, 1976 (61 of 1976);
         (c) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
     (2) Words and expressions used but not defined in this Act and defined in the Iron Ore Mines 1[, Manganese Ore Mines and Chrome Ore Mines Labour Welfare] Fund Act, 1976 (61 of 1976), shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in that Act.
