Long Title: An Act to enable effect to be given to certain international Conventions done at Geneva on the twelfth day of August, 1949, to which India is a party, and for purposes connected therewith.

Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement.
    (1) This Act may be called the Geneva Conventions Act, 1960.
     (2) It extends to the whole of India.
     (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
