Long Title: An Act to provide for the regulation of recycling of ships by setting certain standards and laying down the statutory mechanism for enforcement of such standards and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 3: Designation of National Authority.
    The Central Government shall, by notification, designate an officer not below the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of India as the National Authority, which shall administer, supervise and monitor all activities relating to ship recycling under this Act.
