Long Title: An Act to control the advertisement of drugs in certain cases, to prohibit the advertisement for certain purposes of remedies alleged to possess magic qualities and to provide for matters connected therewith.

Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement.
    (1) This Act may be called the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act, 1954.
     (2) It extends to the whole of India 1***, and applies also to persons domiciled in the territories to which this Act extends who are outside the said territories.
     (3) It shall come into force on such date2 as the Central Government may, by Notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
