Long Title: An Act to provide for surveillance, inspection, operation and maintenance of the specified dam for prevention of dam failure related disasters and to provide for institutional mechanism to ensure their safe functioning and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 28: Operation and maintenance.
    (1) Every owner of the specified dam shall provide operation and maintenance establishment for the specified dam, and shall ensure that sufficient number of trained operation and maintenance engineers or technical persons are posted at each such dam.
    (2) Every owner of the specified dam shall ensure that a well-documented operation and maintenance manual is kept at each of the specified dams and are followed at all times.
