Act Name: The Land Ports Authority of India Act, 2010

Long Title: An Act to provide for the establishment of the Land Ports Authority of India to put in place systems which address security imperatives and for the development and management of facilities for cross border movement of passengers and goods at designated points along the international borders of India and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Section 33: Power of Central Government to issue directions.
    (1) Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions of this Act, the Author ity shall, in the discharge of its functions and duties under this Act, be bound by such directions on questions of policy as the Central Government may give in writing to it from time to time:
     Provided that the Authority shall, as far as practicable, be given opportunity to express its views before any direction is given under this sub - section.
     (2) The decision of the Central Government whether a question is one of policy or not shall be final.
     (3) The Central Government may, from time to time, issue directions to the Authority regarding the discharge of any functions by it under the clauses of sub-section (2) of section 11 and the Authority shall be bound to comply with such directions.
