Consequence of parties not appearing on the day fixed for the trial of any issue.

    If on the day fixed for the trial of any issue neither of the parties appear, the case shall be struck off under the conditions provided in section LIV. If on any such day one only of the parties appear, the issue may be tried and determined in the absence of the other party upon such proof as may be then before the Court
