The Collector may in any case grant time to the plaintiff or defendant to proceed in the prosecution or defence of a suit and may also from, time to time, in order to the production of further proof or for other sufficient reason to be recorded by the Collector, adjourn the hearing or further hearing of any case in such manner as to him may seem fit.
