Section 124: Procedure by Civil Court Ameen &c. on receipt of application.
    Immediately on receipt of the application the Civil Court Ameen or other Officer shall transmit a copy of it to the Collector; and shall serve a notice (which shall be in the form (G) contained in the Schedule to this Act, or to the like effect on the person whose property has been distrained, requiring him either to pay the amount demanded, or to institute a suit to contest the demand before the Collector within period of fifteen days from the receipt of the notice. He shall at the same time send to the Collector for the purpose of being put up in his office, and if in the North-Western Provinces, in the cutcherry of the Tuhseeldar, a proclamation fixing a day for the sale of the distrained property, which shall not be less than twenty days from the date of the application; and shall deliver a copy of the proclamation to the peon charged with the service of the notice, to be put up by him in the place where the distrained property is deposited. The proclamation shall contain a description of the property, the demand for which is to be sold, and the place where the sale is to be held.
