Section 145: Resistance of distraint.
    If any person shall resist a distraint of property duly made under this Act, or shal1forcibly or clandestinely remove any distrained property, the Collector, upon complaint being made within fifteen days from the date of such resistance or removal, shall cause the person accused to be arrested, and if the offence be proved and the offender be the owner of the property, shall order him to be imprisoned in the Civil jail for six months, or until the whole arrear due to the distrainer with all expenses and costs shall sooner be paid or levied by distress and sale of the property of the offender under warrant of the Collector. If the person convicted of the offence be any other than the owner of the property, he shall make good to the distrainer the value of the same, and shall further be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred Rupees, or in default of payment thereof to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two months.
