If on the property being put up for sale a fair price in the estimation of the Officer holding the sale be not offered for it, and the owner of the property or some person authorized to act on his behalf apply to have the sale postponed until the next day, or the next market day if a market be held at the place of sale, the sale shall be postponed until such day and shall be then completed whatever price may be offered for the property.
